In 2011, he passed the board certification exam for orthopaedics at the 1st Medical Faculty of Charles University in Prague. He has attended a number of professional courses focused mainly on orthopaedic surgery. His experience is varied, from the hospital setting in the orthopaedic clinics at Bulovka Hospital and the Rudolf and Stefanie Hospital in Benešov u Prahy, but also from private outpatient practices. In the field of surgery, MUDr. Šimon Kybal specialises mainly in hip or knee joint arthroplasties and arthroscopies of the knee and shoulder joints; one of his fields of expertise is also forefoot surgery.

What will be your priorities for the coming months?

Our field is specific in its combination of outpatient care and surgery, so the concept of expanding the capacity of our surgical unit or the number of beds has been part of our vision from the beginning. Of course, these are visions for the distant future, but they are worth starting to pursue.

Where do you see the future of orthopaedics here at Canadian Medical?

The future I see is in creating and maintaining a team of excellent physicians. Being an orthopaedic surgeon means that, for the most part, our clients' difficulties cannot be addressed without surgery. Combined with the high-quality outpatient care we have today, this is a vision that will allow us to offer truly comprehensive care for our patients.

What do you personally enjoy about orthopaedics within Canadian?

I have to say that for me, one of the most tangible benefits (and this isn’t just for us orthopaedic surgeons) is the environment itself. We have a really beautiful workplace. That's a big plus, and it affects a lot of other things as well. The good environment and the good relationships we have here are encouraging. Our clients benefit a lot from that and it's one of the reasons why they seek our services. As a doctor, I am very happy to be here and I am thrilled to be involved in expanding the scope of care we can offer our clients.
